There are many convention organisers
around the country and some are better than others at what they offer.
Most conventions happen over a weekend,
normally starting on a Friday night with an opening ceremony, at which
the guests are presented. There is then some kind of "meet 'n' greet"
where those attendees with low enough ticket numbers get to meet the
guests.
The weekend continues with guest talks,
photoshoots, autograph sessions, trips to the dealers room, costume
competitions, contests and quizzes and normally a couple of parties
thrown in for good measure. Its also a chance to catch up with friends
you may have made at other shows.
Signing events can be anywhere from a
couple of hours to three or four days. They occasionally include talks
and photoshoots but mostly they involve lining up to meet the guest, get
an autograph and if you are lucky an over-the-table photo with them.
Below are links to a number of
conventions I have attended, some recent, others not so recent. There is
also a link to my celebrity photo gallery.
